Mostly it is crushed to be used as a construction material. Crushed basalt is usedfor pavement, concrete, asphalt pavement, as a filter layer in drainage fields and many other purposes.
Basalt is also cut into smaller stones of required dimensions. Thin basalt slabs are cut and polished to be used as flooring, facing tiles, as well as a construction material for monuments and other construction works.
More and more people are starting to usemolded basalt products that are multipurpose. Basalt is used to make rebars, meshes, fiber, sound-insulating building materials.
